On April 14-15, 2007,
the Three
Rivers Mall in Kelso, Washington hosted a Model Railroad & Model
Circus Layout Show. This was the first model train show to be held at
the Three Rivers Mall since the mid-1990s.
Perhaps
the most impressive part of the circus show was this display of
scratchbuilt carnival rides and circus scenes. These were all made
primarily of everyday household items, like paper, popsicle sticks, and
drinking straws.
Another
circus display was in HO Scale and included these scenes.
One
of the layouts on display was the HO-Scale Pacific Northwest Modular
Railroad, shown here. Other layouts on display, which I missed because I
didn't take pictures of most of the show until Sunday afternoon,
included those from the Peninsula Model Railroad Club of Ilwaco,
Washington, and the Southwest Washington Model Railroad Club of
Vancouver, Washington.
