Not all of the Athearn 72-foot heavyweight
cars are necessarily too short. There were heavyweight RPO and
Baggage cars that were only about 72 feet long, so these cars
may be correct, though I don't know their prototypes. There were
also some short heavyweight coaches, though the Athearn coaches
have an unusual window pattern. The Diner, Sleeper and
Observation ARE too short, though I don't know their
exact prototypes either. |

The Daylight cars have been announced as
part of both the Broadway Limited Imports (BLI) and Precision
Craft Models (PCM) lines. The PCM cars are pre-war Morning
Daylight cars and the BLI cars are post-war Coast Daylight cars.
They represent the same prototypes, but with slightly different
details to represent different eras. |
