2008 Northwest Car Collectors Car Show

The 2008 Northwest Car Collectors Association Car Show & Swap Meet  was held at the Portland Metropolitan Exposition Center in Portland, Oregon on October 11-12, 2008. These pictures were taken on Sunday, October 12, 2008.

 

 I spotted this 1956 Hudson Metropolitan on a trailer in the parking lot

 

This first group of cars were on the swap meet side of the show and were all being offered for sale.

This 1969 Plymouth Belvedere Sedan is an original Portland Police Department Patrol Car and is one of only two 1969 Plymouth Belvedere police cars known to exist.

There were also a few World War II military vehicles on display.

 

This 1944 GMC 2-1/2 Ton 6x6 DUKW Amphibian Truck is one of 23,000 built by GMC from 1942 to 1945. Its 270 cubic inch 6-cylinder engine powers the 14,500 pound vehicle on both land and water. It can reach speeds of 55 miles per hour on land and 7 knots in the water.

 

 

This 1944 M18 "Hellcat" Tank Destroyer is one of 2,507 built by Buick from June-October, 1944. With thin armor and an open turret for its 76mm gun, the M18 weight only 37,000 pounds. With a 400 horsepower Continental 975 cubic inch 9-cylinder turbocharged radial engine and 3-speed GM Torqmatic automatic transmission, the M18 was WWII's fasted armored tracked vehicle, capable of speeds over 60 miles per hour.

 

This 1/4-Ton Ford GPW was delivered to the U.S. Army on April 26, 1945 and is one of approximately 270,000 "Jeeps" built by Ford during WWII. It carries a pedestal-mounted Browning M2 .50 caliber machine gun and a dash-mounted Browning M1919 .30 caliber machine gun.

 

 

Outside there were more vehicles for sale as part of the swap meet. These vehicles were in various states of repair and most were in need of restoration.
